I have listened carefully and found a few things bothersome- Race and Racism in the Islamic world are a huge thing!!! Malcolm X notwithstanding. Already in the 7th century there was a distinction between the original arabian tribes, decendents of Mohammad and his close follower's tribes (Tzachaba) and anybody who accepted Islam from the outside or was conquered by them. New muslims and non-arabian were 2nd class and had to pay a special land tax to the originals. Beyond that there is always the Slavery issue which is still relevant today!!! in parts of mid-Africa and some golf-states (without calling it Slavery officially). Historically speaking, there were slaves in the Islamic civilization from all races, colors and ethnic backgrounds. Yet, they never accepted black Africans as "Soldier Slaves" (accept in the short lived Arlabi Kingdom in 10th century Tunisia), that was reserved for white Balkens or Turko-Mongolian tribes. Black Africans as slaves in the Islamic world were sent to the fields (like the corn fields in America) to harvest suger canes (mostly in sothern Iraq) or were castrated and sent to be keepers in the women Harems for their fiefdom's needs. Still today, one could find tribes in the middle-east with the name- "AlAbeed" (Translated as - "The Slaves") and are ALL from Black-African decent, and they don't get to Intermarry into other arabian or non arabian tribes. That is RACISM par excellence. Second- another issue was the Ottoman empire receiving fleeing Jews from Christian Spain in the end of the 15th century-- 1. Most jews in Spain remained behind and converted to christianity by force or willingly and became hidden jews (Marranos) and were hunted by the inquisition, 2. A lot of Jews just fled to other christian lands like Italy and pope lands (a thing back in the day) or Holland (remember Benedict d'Espinosa), France, Germanic city states and even Poland. 3. A few Sultans down the line and those Jews were not really enjoying their stay... 4. Just 250 years before that in the same Spain, Jews fled Muslim Lands into christian domian in order to escape Islamic tyranny.
